Barbara F. Corrigan, 89, of Pleasant Street, Attleboro, died peacefully and gracefully as she lived her life on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Garden Place, Attleboro. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on April 30, 1922, she was the only child born to the late Owen and Florence (Hasler) Corrigan. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro and was a 1940 graduate of Attleboro High School and later earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Art. An accomplished artist who particularly enjoyed expressing herself through French watercolor wash style of painting. During her career as an artist, Miss Corrigan painted and sold more than three hundred paintings capturing the life in simpler times in places such as Attleboro, Boston, Cape Cod and other places around the world. Miss Corrigan was a lifelong resident of Attleboro with the exception of a short time she resided in North Attleboro. In addition to painting, she treasured times spent reading, cooking, traveling and sewing. She enjoyed the company of cats and enjoyed poetry. She leaves behind her long time art agent and friend: Alfred Walker of Natchez, Mississippi; her cousin: Deborah Swanson of Wilmington, North Carolina and her friends: Mildred Braga of Taunton and Melissa Riley of Attleboro. A display of Miss Corrigans work will be featured during the Attleboro Arts Museum 2012 Annual Flower Show, 86 Park Street, Attleboro from March 22 25 and for the month of April at The Ugly Dog Bookstore, 75 Union Street, Attleboro.
