Barbara A. Burns, 80 of Plainville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Providence, RI.
Born in Providence, RI, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Burns and Genevieve Pieretti (Paquin). She grew up in Middleboro and graduated from Middleboro High School.
Barbara was a waitress for over 30 years at Colstone Family Restaurant before her retirement. She remained very active after retirement and enjoyed weekly social events with friends. She was a member of the North Attleboro Elks Club and never missed Friday night musical bingo at Fitzy's Pub in Plainville. Barbara was an avid reader, loved to be outside in the sun and enjoyed her daily walks. She didn't have any pets of her own but enjoyed pet sitting for others. One of Barbara's greatest joys was her grandchildren and she would never miss an opportunity to attend any of their activities or events over the years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Pappone and her husband Brian of Attleboro. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Jason Pappone, Taylor Pappone and her fiancé Joshua Cayer; sisters, Nancy Flavin of California, Lois Burns of California, Felicia Pieretti of Florida, Linda Simpson of Norton, Janice Griffin of Plainville and Donna Monty of Pawtucket. She was the sister of the late James Pieretti.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
