Aurore Yvonne Brodeur

Aurore Yvonne (Archambault) Brodeur, 89, of West Street, Attleboro, died on Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Paul Brodeur to whom she was married in August of 1941 and who died on February 26, 1994. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on New Years Day January 1, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Clovis and Aurore Marie (Dusablond) Archambault. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where she remained a lifelong resident. She was employed in the jewelry industry for many years having been last employed by Young Casting Company in Attleboro for four years prior to her retirement. Previously, Mrs. Brodeur was a press operator for Automatic Machine in Attleboro; as an assembler for Buxton Box in Attleboro; as a waitress at Howard Johnsons in North Attleboro and during World War II served as a riveter in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a lifelong communicant of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in the Dodgeville section of Attleboro. At the church she was a member of the church choir and participated in the minstrel shows years ago. Mrs. Brodeur was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox. She will be lovingly remembered for her love for baking, especially pies and her love for dancing. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Attleboro Drum and Bugle Corps. She leaves three children: Denise M. DaCosta of Attleboro; Ronald P. Brodeur of Attleboro and Gary P. Brodeur of Attleboro; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a sister: Doris Chapman in Virginia and three generations of nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister of the late Gerald Archambault, Theresa Hughes and Flora Raymond. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 5:00 8:00 PM in the Commonwealth Chapel of Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a committal graveside service on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Stephens Cemetery, 683 South Main Street, Attleboro. Childrens room available during visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community VNA Hospice, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
