Audrey W. House, age 85, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at her home.
Cherished and beloved mother to Beth Sherr and her husband, Richard, of Boston, MA; Monica Gilmore of Plymouth; Michael House of Shrewsbury; Kathleen Steel and her husband, Dave, of Chatham; Sharon Broyles of Mansfield; Barbara House of Stoughton; and Tom House of Lancaster. Devoted sister to Pete Ward and his wife, Joan; and sister-in-law to Margee Hanford. Adoring grandmother to Benjamin, Caitlin, Amanda, Natalie, Victoria, Meredith, Olivia, Paige, Nicholas, and Delaney.
Audrey was devoted to her family, and her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. Her infectious laugh and amazing wit brought joy to all holidays and family gatherings, and her love will guide us as we navigate this loss. Audrey will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Audrey was an accomplished woman with many talents. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Chestnut Hill College in 1957 and went on to teach, tutor, and develop her computer skills. She was an inquisitive lifelong learner as well as a creative seamstress, painter, and crafter. She was most proud of her contributions to the Attleboro Council on Aging as their Newsletter Editor and as an advisor in their AARP Income Tax Assistance Program, retiring at the age of 80.
The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to the caring staff at the Community VNA and Hospice in Attleboro, who provided outstanding care and support to Audrey and her family.
Due to current pandemic restrictions, a private service and Catholic Funeral Mass at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Mary Church in North Attleboro will be held for immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Audrey to the Community VNA of Attleboro, 10 Emory Street, Attleboro, MA 02703, or to the Hebron Food Pantry, Inc., P.O. Box 92, Attleboro, MA 02703.
