Audrey Eileen (Ogilvie) Fischer, 87 Devoted and Dedicated Homemaker to Her FamilyAudrey Eileen (Ogilvie) Fischer, 87, of Winthrop Drive, Attleboro, died on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Albert J. Fischer to whom she was married on April 2, 1949.Born in Sidney, Nova Scotia, Canada on December 8, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Harry S. and Elizabeth (George) Ogilvie. She was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where she was a 1942 graduate of Attleboro High School.Mrs. Fischer resided in Attleboro until moving to Rehoboth where she resided for six years prior to returning to Attleboro in 1955.She attended the First Baptist Church of Attleboro.In earlier years, Mrs. Fischer was employed in the Personnel Office at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 7 years prior to devoting herself to her husband and children as a dedicated homemaker.She will be lovingly remembered as a tremendous seamstress. Her favorite pastimes included being a member of an informal bridge club and a member of an informal supper club among friends. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the Caribbean. However, her greatest accomplishment was the success of being a loving wife, mother and, in more recent years, grandmother and great grandmother.In addition to her husband of 62 years, she leaves four children: Jay A. Fischer of Centerville; Mark D. Fischer and his wife, Lisa A. (Bagley) Fischer, of North Attleboro; Jill M. Baszner and her husband, Peter E. Baszner, of Whitinsville and Glenn G. Fischer of Attleboro; two grandchildren: Nathan M. Fischer of North Attleboro and Angela E. McBrine and her husband, Mark McBrine, of Attleboro; a great grandson: Grant P. Fischer of Grafton and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late George Ogilvie and Evelyn McNamara.Visitation has been respectfully omitted.A private funeral service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Linda Lea Snyder, Interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Attleboro, officiating.Private burial will be in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.Please do not send flowers.
