Audrey Spencer Cokonis

Audrey Spencer (Betts) Cokonis, 83, of Attleboro, peacefully passed away at Golden Living Center, Garden Place, in Attleboro, MA, on Saturday, May 27, 2017. She was the loving wife of the late Christo Peter Cokonis who died on May 15, 2011. Born on September 13, 1933 in North Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Russell L. Betts and Lillian (Jackabitis) Betts. Audrey worked for many years in Sales and as an Engraver for The Robbins Company in Attleboro before retiring.She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Attleboro. Her life was filled with love, interests, and enjoyments. She especially loved spending time with her late beloved husband and their family, with her many grandchildren, and with her great-grandchildren. An avid reader of books and newspapers, she enjoyed board and word games, collecting Hummel figurines, summers on Cape Cod, traveling, and the outdoors. Always a caring woman, she graciously volunteered at the North Attleboro Senior Center and at New Hope. She was the loving mother of Debra N. Cokonis and her fiancée, Edmond A. Proulx, of South Attleboro, MA; Peter C. Cokonis and his wife, Rosalind E. Cokonis, of Seekonk, MA; Russell C. Cokonis and his wife, Tracey Y. Cokonis, of Lunenburg, MA; Chris L. Cokonis and his companion, Joyce L. Taylor, of Attleboro, MA; and Davad N. Cokonis of Nantucket, MA. She leaves eleven cherished grandchildren and six treasured great-grandchildren. Audrey is survived by her sister Barbara Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL, and her sister-in-law, Tina Karambelas of North Palm Beach, FL.
