Ashley "Ash" David Fry, 51, of Attleboro, MA, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Joy Linnea Helgerson-Fry, to whom he was wed on April 13, 2002.Born on April 5, 1967 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia, he was the son of Arthur William Fry and Annette Faye (Neuendorf) Fry of Australia.Ash was a graduate of the United States Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA where he received his Master's Degree in Operational Research. He was also a graduate of Capella University and received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. He proudly and honorably served as a Major in the Australian Army. Ash was the principal and owner of Dinkum Designs, working in the field of Organizational Psychology and Web Design.Ash was a resident of Attleboro for the past fifteen years, where he was a member of the Attleboro Lions Club. The overwhelming love of his life was his daughters, whom he cherished beyond words, and he was always involved with their activities and athletics. He truly loved spending time with them, with Joy, and with his family and friends. Ash had a tremendous sense of humor, delighted in sharing the "joke of the day" with his family, and could often be found wearing crazy tee-shirts. He was an avid fan of all of the New England sports teams, enjoyed trips to the White Mountains, especially along the beautiful Kancamagus Highway. A warm and generous man, he was involved with "Cops for Kids with Cancer", and had a special place in his heart for the family's cats: "Aussie" and "Frankie".In addition to his wife, Joy, and his parents, he leaves his most beloved daughters: Mackenzie Joy Fry and Addison Ashley Fry, both of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Paula Hannan of Singleton, New South Wales, Australia. He leaves his father and mother-in-law, Nathan J. Helgerson and Teresa L. (Hair) Helgerson, and sister-in-law, Lisa C. Helgerson, all of Seekonk, MA. He also leaves his extended family of nieces and nephews, many dear friends, his "American Family", along with innumerable memories.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Ash by gathering for a Visitation on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Burial services will immediately follow in Newell Burying Ground, South Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either The Ash Fry Family Fund in care of Bristol County Savings Bank, 96 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02763, or to Cops for Kids With Cancer, P.O.
