Arthur Rose

Arthur Rose, 62, of Mansfield, formerly of Attleboro, passed away on January 10, 2014 at home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Verna (Ratcliffe) Rose to whom he married on August 8, 1975. Born in Attleboro, MA on April 7, 1951, he was a son of John Rose of Mansfield and the late Getrude J. (Booth) Rose. Mr. Rose many years at a steel mill in Mansfield, then he was a maintenance worker at the Norton Glen Apartments in Norton. He then was self-employed in the flooring/carpeting industry prior to his retirement in 2000. Arthur prided himself in talking to and helping others with C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) in an online chatroom. Mr. Rose loved music; oldies and blues being his favorite. He also enjoyed fifties dancing and old cars; belonging to the Bristol County Street Rod Association. Most important to him was his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of thirty-nine years; Mr. Rose is survived by two siblings: John Rose and Susan Soldat of Norton; two beloved grandchildren: Kevin Jason Donohue and Marissa Rose Donohue. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his two daughters, Cynthia L. Rose and Jill Marie Rose. Mr. Rose was the son-in-law of the late Dorothy C. Quigg, James T. Ratcliffe and William A. Quigg. A Graveside Service was held on January 14, 2014 at 11 AM in Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield. Reverand Kelly Thibeault of the First Congregational Church in North Attleboro officiated.
