Armand Dona Houde

Armand Dona Houde, 86, of Attleboro, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 6, 2015. He was the husband of the late Valerie (Royer) Houde, to whom he was married for nearly fifty years and who died on December 30, 1998. Born in Attleboro on April 23, 1929, he was a son of the late Godfrey "Jeffery" Houde and Alexina (LaCroix) Houde. Armand was employed as a Metallurgical Technician at Texas Instruments for more than thirty-seven years before retiring in 1989. After retirement, he continuously worked as a consultant for Crest Manufacturing Company in Lincoln, RI. He proudly served our country as a Corporal in the United States Army from March 5, 1947 until November 8, 1949, earning the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. He also served as an Airman First Class in the United States Air Force from June 1, 1951 until December 15, 1953. He was a proud member of the VFW and of the Second Congregational Church in Attleboro, and had a deep love of his family. He survived by his treasured daughters: Joyce A. Cross of Attleboro, Valerie A. Wood of Attleboro, and Norma Jean Kher of Pawtucket, RI; his beloved companion Wendy Wheeler of Attleboro; and his dearly loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Armand was the father of the late Maryann Houde, and the brother of the late Rose LaCroix, Leonard Houde, and Joseph Houde. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703. Burial will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Second Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 50 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
