Armand Jean Harnois, 77, of Lakeshore Drive, Blackstone; formerly of Norton; died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Jeanne F. (Richard) Harnois to whom he was married on May 3, 1980. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on July 6, 1937, he was a son of the late Armand G. and Rose (Desrosiers) Harnois. He was raised and educated in Woonsocket and was a graduate of Assumption Preparatory School - Class of 1955 and earned his Associates Degree from the former Bryant College. Mr. Harnois was employed at Hasbro Industries, Inc. in Pawtucket, Rhode Island retiring in 1993 at the age of 56 as the plant manager. He was a proud member of the Hasbro 25-Year Club. He was a member of the Rhode Island Air National Guard. Mr. Harnois resided in Blackstone for almost ten years having moved to the community from Norton where he was a 25 year resident. He was an ardent sports fan with a particular love for the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox. Mr. Harnois enjoyed fishing, woodworking, collecting antiques and reading. Times spent with family and friends creating lifelong memories were his favorite pastime. He enjoyed taking day trips, particularly to Cape Cod, and traveling, particularly to Bermuda. In addition to his wife of almost 35 years, he leaves his children: Normand A. Harnois and his wife, Christine T. (Fagnant) Harnois of Woonsocket, RI; Theresa S. Sadowski and her husband, George Sadowski, of Coventry, RI; Daniel F. Jones and his wife, Ellen (Bigelow) Jones, of Houston, TX and Todd M. Jones and his wife, Gwen L. (Rossman) Jones, of Greene, RI; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Emile H. Harnois and was the companion of the late feline "Genny" with whom he shared 13 years. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Funeral services and burial will be conducted privately. Children's room available during the visitation.
