Arlene Mary Turner, 75, of Norton, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Epoch Senior Healthcare of Norton in Norton, MA.Born on February 23, 1941 in Dorchester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Albert Watson Turner and the late Mildred Arlene (Hunter) Turner. Arlene was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1958. She was a resident of Norton for the past ten years, having previously resided in Cape Cod, Attleboro, North Attleboro, and Dighton, MA. She worked as a Secretary and Receptionist for several businesses before her retirement, and valued her role as a Homemaker.She enjoyed baking, cooking, the Cape, particularly Pocasset, MA, and loved movies. She was a member of the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps, and was known to be the first female underwriter in the country. Above all else, Arlene's greatest enjoyment was her family, especially time spent with her nine cherished grandchildren, and she always enjoyed the company of her sister's late dog, "Bud".Arlene was the beloved mother of Pauline (Fraga) Kitchen and her husband, Robert Kitchen, of Norton, MA; Teresa A. (Fraga) Kohl and her husband, Richard Kohl, of Needham, MA; Matthew J. Fraga and his wife, Lynn Fraga, of Hebron, CT; and Robert P. Fraga and his wife, Dawn M. Fraga, of Pembroke, MA. She leaves her adoring grandchildren: Jeffrey Kitchen, Taryn Kitchen, Jessica Kohl, Zachary Kohl, MacKenzie Kohl, Samuel Fraga, Elizabeth Fraga, Reilly Fraga, and Brooke Fraga. She was the sister of David M. Turner and his partner, Angela Smith, of Dover, DE; and Heidi M. Turner of Quincy, MA; and leaves several nieces and nephews and many cousins.Arlene was the mother of the late Michael Morency and the sister of the late Albert P. Turner. Arlene was the former wife of Paul R. Fraga of Ft. Myers, FL.Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.Burial will be private.Children's room is available during visitation and the funeral service.Those in need of a local ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.
