Antonia Francisca Lima DePina, 92 of Attleboro, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel DePina.
She found great pleasure in preparing meals, relishing the entire process from selecting fresh ingredients at the local market to experimenting with new recipes in her cozy kitchen. The rhythmic chopping of vegetables, the fragrant aroma of spices sizzling in a pan, and the vibrant colors of the dishes coming together filled her with a sense of joy and accomplishment. Each meal was not just a necessity but a creative outlet, allowing her to express her love for food and share it with family and friends. The laughter and conversations that accompanied the dining table transformed her culinary endeavors into cherished memories, making every meal a celebration of flavors and togetherness.
She is survived by her loving children, Deolinda DePina, Joana Almeida, Maria DePina, Maria Luisa Mendonca, Jose Antonio Lima DePina and Laura Lima Oquiongo. She is also survived by 37 cherished grandchildren, 39 dear great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was the devoted mother of the late Eduardo Oquiongo, Fernanda Lima DePina and Joao Dedeus Lima DePina.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcomed to attend visitation on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home at 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 9:00am from the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church at 105 Stanley Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery, 165 West Street, Attleboro, MA.
