Anthony "Tony" R. Correia, 74, of Norton, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Home Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL. He was the beloved and devoted companion of Diane Mitchell for the past 34 years. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 13, 1939. He was a son of the late Antone and Alice (Cabral) Correia. Mr. Correia was raised and educated in Taunton, MA and was a graduate of the former Monsignor James Coyle High School in Taunton, Class of 1958. Upon his graduation, Tony served in the United States Marine Corp as a Private until his honorable medical discharge. Mr. Correia was employed at the former Foxboro Company in Foxboro, MA for eighteen years. Diane and Tony always looked forward to returning to their winter home they loved in Florida. Anthony was a member of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks, Berkley American Legion and the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club. He was an assistant Cub Scout Leader for Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pack No. 21, Troop 10, and he also danced and sang for Louise Crowley at many of her dance recitals. In addition to Diane, Mr. Correia is survived by his brother: Ralph W. Cabral and his wife Eveline M. (Chamberlain) Cabral; several cousins, Dorothy (Haskins) and the late Jean Paul Plasse, Mary Lou and Leo Cote, John Jr. and Karolyn Sikorski, Mary Ellen (Sikorski) and Wayne Walkden , Valerie A. Cabral, Catherine (Cabral) and Michael Sanborn, Michael J. and Tracy (Haskins) Cabral, David J. and Virginia (Finch) Cabral. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Ron and sister-in-law, Pat Sawyer whom he considered his dearest friends. Anthony was predeceased by his dear mother, grandmother and two aunts, Dorothea and Mary, and one uncle, Joseph. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Funeral Services will be held, at a time to be announced, by the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
