Annette R. (Bergeron) Lachance, 90Devoted to Her FamilyAnnette Rita (Bergeron) Lachance, 90, of Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, Attleboro; formerly of Mansfield and Rehoboth, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved and cherished wife of Raymond Arthur Lachance with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on June 21, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Napoleon and Olivine (Lafond) Bergeron. She returned to Attleboro last March from Willow Crossing in Mansfield where she had resided for the previous five years. Prior to moving to Mansfield, Mrs. Lachance resided on Peck Street in Rehoboth and was a former resident of the City of Attleboro. In earlier years, Mrs. Lachance was employed by Coats Field, Buxton Box, as a sales representative at Mars Department Store in Attleboro and was a sales representative for Fashion 220. She leaves a legacy of a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life revolved around her love for her family.She treasured times spent dancing with her husband and engaging in friendly conversation. Mrs. Lachance was a history aficionado.She gave many gifts to her family, some of which were her love for music, singing and entertaining. In addition to her husband to whom she was married on November 30, 1939, she leaves five children: Lorraine C. Sweeney of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Gloria J. Pontes of North Dighton; Ronald L. Lachance of Plymouth; Lillian A. Labonte of Lakeville and Richard R. Lachance of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister: Olive Tardif of Buena Park, California; a brother: Armand Bergeron of West Palm Beach, Florida and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister of the late Amie Bergeron who was killed in action in World War II, George Bergeron, Alice LeBeau and Eva (Hudon) Cioffi. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 5:00 - 6:45 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Victor Chaupetta, M.S. of the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette, Park Street, Attleboro, officiating. Burial will be private in Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth. Following funeral home services on Monday evening, January 31, 2011 an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
