Anna "Anne" (Nardelli) Del Vecchio

March 27, 1928 — May 10, 2022

After a long life on Earth, Anna "Anne" (Nardelli) DelVecchio was liberated from her body and began her new journey on May 10, 2022, surrounded by her three children.
Always a resident of North Attleboro, Anne graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1946 and was noted as "a sparkling person who is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need."  Her stated goal was "to succeed."
For several years Anne served as a proud employee of the L.G. Balfour Company, a world leader in class rings and fraternity and sorority jewelry.  She could quickly recite the Greek alphabet from Alpha to Omega.  The company's founder would often boast that his office workers were "the best-dressed girls in America," and while at Balfour she continued to develop her well-known flair for fashion.  In later life she was a member of the "Balfour Gold Dusters," the alumni association of former Balfour employees.
She married Daniel Del Vecchio Jr. of Providence, RI, on June 4, 1955.  When Dan attained his long-delayed dream of becoming a licensed attorney, for many years Anne served as the office manager and secretary in his North Attleboro law practice, leveraging her impressive organizational skills, vetting potential clients, and always making decisions founded in good judgment and common sense.  She and Dan were married for 61 years until his death in 2019.
Anne shared a deep and loving friendship with her older sisters, Mary Landry and Philomena "Phil" Percevay, of North Attleboro.  The three sisters were inseparable, supporting one another through all of life's passages.  In addition to Dan and her sisters, Anne will be reunited with her parents, Giovanna Nardelli (née Greco) and Alex Nardelli.
During a trip to Italy in the 1980s, and long before the miracle of the internet, Anne was fortuitously introduced to her first cousin, Maria Marcoccio.  This led to a long and enduring re-connection with her family network in the Ciociaria region.  On many occasions Anne and Dan visited these cousins and also hosted them at their home in North Attleboro.
Anne leaves her three children:  Dyann, and her husband, David Hilbern, of Matunuck, RI; Dr. Daniel A. Del Vecchio of Boston, MA; and David DelVecchio of North Attleboro, MA.  She also leaves her grandchildren:  Dr. Sharon DelVecchio of Geelong, Australia; Lana DelVecchio of Brisbane, Australia; and Sabrina DelVecchio of Pawtucket, RI.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated professionals who treated Anne and enabled her to attain the age of 94.  They include Dr. Lisa Bowie and team of North Attleboro Medical Center; Dr. James Januzzi and Ms. Olena Murthy of Massachusetts General Hospital; Dr. Lyle Micheli and team of Children's Hospital; and Dr. Dana Zalkind and team of New England Baptist Hospital; as well as the kind caregivers of Home Instead and Hope Hospice/VNA.
There is no doubt that Anne attained her goals, maintaining her sparkle until the very end.  Anne will be most remembered for her kindness, generosity, decency, and forbearance.
Until we meet her again, her family and friends will carry on in her honor and she will live in our hearts.
