Ann Marie Stone

October 30, 1943 — February 19, 2024

Ann Marie (Schnabel) Stone, 80, of Plainville, MA, peacefully passed away on February 19, 2024, surrounded by the unwavering love and support of her family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence E. Stone and former spouse of James G. McPherson II of Pembroke, MA, and the daughter of the late Arthur A. Schnabel, Sr., and the late Mary H. (Bilodeau) Schnabel.
Ann is survived by her children: James G. McPherson III of Cincinnati, OH; Laura A. McPherson of Plainville, MA; and Lisa M. McPherson of Attleboro, MA.  Ann was a devoted grandmother to Chelsea A. Mikula, her husband Matthew J. Mikula, and great-granddaughter Nora F. Mikula of North Kingstown, RI.She is also survived by her dear sister, Lorraine A. Bourne of Weston, MA, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and remembered as a loving sister of the late Arthur A. Schnabel, Jr., and Richard E. Schnabel.
She found joy in gardening, outdoor activities, and painting. Most importantly, she cherished creating loving memories with her family and her cat, Marmalade.
Born and educated in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, MA.  Ann graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1962. She dedicated many years to working in the billing department at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. Even after retiring, Ann continued to volunteer at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and found joy in volunteering at the Wrentham Developmental Center. In addition to her volunteer work, she worked as a manicurist at a local salon.
She was a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Mansfield, MA, where she found spiritual fulfillment and community support.
Services will be held on March 2nd at 1 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6 School St., Mansfield, MA. A celebration of life will follow for family and close friends at Jimmy's Restaurant, 141 North Main St. in Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Ten Lives Cat Rescue, 16 Harvard St., Pawtucket, RI 02860, or any non-profit organization benefiting animals.
