Anand K. Kohli, 70, of Mansfield, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 10, 2025, at home. He was the beloved husband of Anuradha (Suri) Kohli. They were happily married for 43 wonderful years.
Born in Jaipur, India, on March 12, 1954, Anand was the son of the late Dharamvir and Satwanti Kohli. He earned his Master’s degree in Food Science from the University of Punjab and began his career in the tea plantations of Assam before moving to the United States in 1986 to work in the ice cream industry—a fitting career for a man who had a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Anand was truly the life of the party, his laughter and warmth filling every room he entered. A lover of life, he enjoyed nothing more than sharing a glass of whiskey with friends and family, reminiscing about his travels, and indulging in his passion for food. He was a dedicated foodie, endlessly curious about new flavors and cuisines, from Vietnamese to Ethiopian, and an exceptional home chef and baker. Even as his children grew into adults, he took pride in baking cookies for them, a small but powerful gesture of his love.
His adventurous spirit took him across more than 20 countries, from the temples of Osaka to the pyramids of Egypt, always eager to explore the world’s beauty. He had a special place in his heart for Sundays, when he would gather with family and friends to watch Patriots football, cheering passionately for his favorite team (though in recent years he had become a fan of the Chiefs and Taylor Swift). Despite all his accomplishments, he remained humble, kind, and generous, always extending a helping hand. Whether it was funding an orphanage in Vietnam or volunteering with hospice services, Anand believed in giving back and making the world a better place for others.
Above all, Anand lived for his family. He is survived by his loving children, Aseem Kohli and his wife Diana Eastman of Mansfield, MA, Ashmita Kohli and her husband Chirag Ojha of London, and his cherished four-legged son, Arjun Singh Kohli. He is also survived by his devoted siblings, Vijay Kohli and his wife Suman Kohli of Shrewsbury, MA, and Asha Anand and her husband Madan of London.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Hindu Cremation and Ritual Service on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Hope and Memory Chapel in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, RI.
