Amanda Burns

Amanda Jean Burns, 32, of Providence, RI, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the loving wife of Luc Mathelier.Born on October 22, 1984 in Attleboro, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robin Marie (Phinney) Burns and Steven Phillip Burns and his wife, Maribeth Burns.A resident of Providence for the past three years, she previously lived in Attleboro, MA and was a graduate of Attleboro High School, Class of 2003. Amanda was a warm and caring soul who truly loved children, most everyone she met, and who cared deeply for animals. She had a very special place in her heart for her beloved cat, "Remy" and her late Pug, Elliot". Amanda enjoyed painting, photography and writing, and proudly participated in the volunteer walks benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In addition to her husband and her father and his wife, she is survived by her cherished siblings: Derek A. Burns and his wife, Rodalene D. Burns, of Providence, RI; Joshua A. Burns, of Taunton, MA; and Matthew S. Burns and his wife, Colleen Burns, of Attleboro, MA. She was the loving stepmother of Luc Mathelier and Evelyn Mathelier, and the adoring aunt of Isaiah Santiago, Alesana Burns, and Emileah Burns. Amanda leaves many dear friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Amanda by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service there at 12:00 noon.Burial services will be private.Children's room is available during visitation and funeral services.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Amanda to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 9 Erie Drive, Suite 101, Natick, MA 01760.
