Alys Marie Labarge

Alys Marie (Edwards) LaBarge, 96, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald E. Laurent LaBarge, who passed away in July 1997. Born on April 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late H. Marshall Edwards and the late Celia H. (Rose) Edwards.A resident of Plainville since 1998, she previously lived in Westwood, MA and in Brookline, MA. An outgoing, warm, and caring woman, more than anything, Alys cherished her role as a mother to her family. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life: ice cream - especially peppermint stick; tending to her garden and her tomatoes; and watching football, especially the New England Patriots. She enjoyed spending time with friends at the Plainville Senior Center and playing Ruby Cube there, and generously volunteered her time through the HESSCO program at the Senior Center helping individuals living with a disability, and where, every year, she would assist with tax preparation for the elderly.She was the loving mother of William H. LaBarge of Millis, MA; Ernest Paul LaBarge of Millis, MA; and Leslie A. LaBarge of Marlborough, MA. Alys was the proud and adoring grandmother of nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
