Alma Diana Berkman

January 26, 1932 — October 26, 2018

Alma Diana Berkman, 86, of Sharon, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. Born on January 26, 1932, she was the dear daughter of the late Alfred and Marion (Bletzer) Berkman. Irrepressible, Dynamic, Resilient, Inventive, Optimistic, Democratic, Daughter, Dolly Sister, Sister-in-law, Mother, Mother-in-Law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt, Great-Aunt, Friend, Wife, Beloved. Alma sparkled with a joyous sense of humor and good nature. She unleashed the spirits of six creative souls, adored her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, and loved unconditionally and with abandon twelve glorious grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, and seven grand nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong sister-friend to the daughters of her mother's best friend and their families. Alma always opened her heart and home to all her children's friends, and as a result she was treasured by many young people as they navigated their ways to adulthood. Genuine true love found Alma at the most unexpected time and place, and she was extremely fortunate to spend her final days on this planet with Herb Norris, a sincerely wonderful man who loved her dearly and argued and laughed with her over the final years of her life. Alma was, throughout her life, an unapologetic Democrat, and could be found up to the very end expressing, with feisty vigor, her concern about our country. She would also be gratified to know that this fact was included in her obituary. Alma will without any doubt continue to live on and bring a smile to the hearts and minds of all she touched. Alma leaves behind her daughter Dianne and her husband, Mark Landman; her daughter Coco Berkman; her daughter Sheila and her husband, Jeff Stuart, ant her son Colin "Jimmy"; her son Edward and his partner, Toni Camille; her son Joseph; and her daughters-in-law Elizabeth Berkman and Carol Berkman. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Jessica Semeraro; Daniel Semeraro; Samantha and husband, Matthew Cochrane; Timothy and wife Lindsay Stuart; Seth Landman; Edward Jr. and wife, Lauren Berkman; Molly Landman; Patricia and her husband, Andrew Scheld; Catherine Berkman; Margaret Berkman; Stephanie Berkman; Annabelle Berkman; and her great grandchildren: Cooper Cochrane, Cecilia Cochrane, and Gwen Stuart. She was the loving sister of Iris Lovett.
