Alma Mary Barr

Alma Mary (Belanger) Barr, 92, of Park Street, Attleboro, MA, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Allen Barr, Sr., who died on February 26, 2000. Born on March 6, 1923 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of Alfred Belanger and Exilda "Emma" (Morin) Belanger. Alma was a life-long resident of Attleboro and worked for many years as an Assembler at Texas Instruments. Above all else, Alma loved her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for her, as she did them. She enjoyed her job, shopping, the simple pleasures of going out to dinner, and trips she would take alone to Florida. She especially enjoyed cooking. She leaves her loving children: Richard A. Barr, Jr., of Attleboro, MA; Linda A. (Barr) Everton and her husband, Robert A. Everton, of North Attleboro, MA; and Karen L. (Barr) Love and her husband, Walter A. Love, of Attleboro, MA. She also leaves her treasured grandchildren: Derri Lyn Braun, Amanda Himlan, Tyler Arena, Melissa Love, Christopher Love, Michelle Love, and Kimberly Barr; her cherished great-grandchildren: Rebecca Braun, Bridget Braun, Michael Braun, Alex Himlan, Landon Arena, Ashley Hull, Kaitlyn Hull, and Alex Bennette; and her special great-great granddaughter, Jayleen Vernet. She was the caring sister of Elsie Godbout of FL, and Donald Belanger of NH. Alma was the beloved mother of the late Marion A. Barr, and the sister of the late Albert Belanger. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Noon) in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 12:00 p.m.(Noon) in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home. Burial services will be privately held.
