Allen Leo St. Pierre, 80, of Franklin Street, Attleboro, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice Facility in Providence, Rhode Island following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Edythe (Whitcomb) St. Pierre to whom he was married on February 16, 1957. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on February 20, 1934, he was a son of the late Arthur and Arreatta (Smith) St. Pierre. He was raised and educated in his native community of Attleboro where he was a 1952 graduate of Attleboro High School. He remained a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro. Mr. St. Pierre proudly served with the United States Air Force from August 20, 1952 until his honorable discharge on August 20, 1956 having achieved the rank of Corporal. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier in the City of Attleboro for 32 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro. Mr. St. Pierre was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Lodge 1014 in Attleboro, the AARP, the National Association of Letter Carriers and the US Union Postal Branch 156. His favorite pastimes included playing golf, enjoying a game of cards with family and friends and was a dedicated and devoted sports enthusiast. In addition to his wife, he leaves five children: Cynthia St. Pierre of Providence, Rhode Island; Richard St. Pierre of Dayton, Ohio; Gary St. Pierre of Attleboro; Donald St. Pierre of Ashton, Maryland and Jeffrey St. Pierre of Attleboro; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Douglas St. Pierre of Attleboro and Robert St. Pierre of Bow, New Hampshire and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Arthur T. St. Pierre, Noel E. St. Pierre, and Roland M. H. St. Pierre and Carole Harris. A private visitation and a Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
