Alice Marie Ward Rounds

Alice Marie Ward Rounds died on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 94.
Alice drew her first breath as her young mother, Alice Catherine Ward, took her last breath on April 17, 1928, in Lackawanna, New York.  Raised in Rhode Island by her beloved grandmother, Alice Teresa Ward, she has found solace that she will meet her mother with her grandmother in Heaven.
She married Emory Arthur Rounds, II, who preceded her in death.  Together they had six children: Emory (Leslie), Michael (Cheryl), Theresa (Lynn Piotrowicz), Arthur, Cynthia (Jim) McGuigan, and Kenny (Donna).
She had sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. They include Emory Rounds, IV, Kate (Rounds) Avery, Christopher Rounds, Erin (Rounds) Hamer, Megan (Rounds) Vrooman. Joseph Rounds and his children Abby, Joseph, James.  Jennifer Rounds (Lucy) and Laura Rounds, Kayla (McGuigan) Perry (David) and their children Fallyn and Torin, Nicole McGuigan, Catherine McGuigan, Oliver Garrone-Rounds, Stori Rounds, and Bradi Rounds.  She also held a special place in her heart for her grandson, Nicholas.  Those grandchildren and great grandchildren who spent time with her, found Alice to be happy and generous.
She shared her love unconditionally and enjoyed celebrating life events with family and friends. Lisa Garrone and Eddie Stack (Jessica) maintained a presence in Alice's life taking the time to make her feel special throughout the years.
A witty woman with a great sense of humor, Alice always joked with Jimmy that he was her favorite son-in-law.
Known for crocheting skills, Alice has given hundreds of Christmas stockings and afghans to those who asked.  A loyal friend, Alice enjoyed many evenings dancing with Walter, bowling with Winny and sharing experiences with longtime friend, Sandy.  Alice worked at many factories in Plainville and North Attleboro to provide for her family.
Alice was a beautiful woman who loved to laugh, her bright blue eyes twinkling with joy and sometimes mischief.  Her daughters, Cindy, and Terri, looked deeply into those eyes during her final days and found at the center of Alice, a devoted mother with a zest for life and a fighting spirit that gave them strength to hold her hand as she prepared to finally meet her mother.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to the Funeral Service on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mary, Park Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice's name may be made to St. Vincent de Paul of the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mary, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760 or to the Baker Home, Lackawanna, New York.
