Alice Olive Doiron

Alice Olive (Lovely) Doiron, 79, of Madonna Manor Nursing Home, North Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Southbridge, Attleboro and Plainville, went home to be with her loving Lord on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Joseph Armand Doiron to whom she was married on November 7, 1959 and entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2009. Born in Wakefield, Massachusetts on September 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Weldon and Christine F. C. (Crabiel) Lovely. She was raised and educated in Plainville where she was a 1950 graduate of the former Plainville High School. Mrs. Doiron followed her faith and attended Nazarene College where she was the valedictorian of her graduating class and shortly thereafter was ordained as a Nazarene Minister. Mrs. Doiron then attended Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and earned her honors as a registered nurse in 1958. As a registered nurse she was employed at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, the former Wrentham State School, the former Foxboro State School and retired as the Director of Nursing for the former Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Attleboro. As a shepherd for the Lord, Mrs. Doiron served as an evangelist within the community and her comforting ways and words led many to the Lord's embrace. Her family recalls with love their mother, grandmother and great grandmother's ability to live life in accordance with his strong faith and religious convictions. Her life works are summarized best in Matthew 25:21 - "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!" She will be remembered for her love for family, friends and even strangers and for always being there for them in a dedicated unselfish manner Mrs. Doiron resided in North Attleboro for the past two years having previously resided in Southbridge for a year and in Attleboro from 2000 - 2009 having moved to the city from Plainville where she had been a longtime resident. She leaves three children: Therese Marie (Doiron) Peck and her husband, Howard E. Peck, of Franklin; Joseph Raymond Doiron and his wife, Linda M. Doiron, of Southbridge and David Reuben Doiron and his wife, Gail A. (Parker) Doiron, of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; foster daughter: Victoria Gosselin of Northport, Florida; three siblings: Marjory Joan Welsh of Harwichport; Sara "Sally" Roberts of Plainville and Alan F. Lovely of Felton, Delaware; many nieces, nephews and several extended family members. She was the mother of the late Michelle Fairbanks Doiron who died in 1975. She was the sister of the late Weldon "Reuben" Lovely and Christine Kistner. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on SUNDAY, January 6, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a graveside funeral service MONDAY, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, 565 Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro with the Rev. James Blair, Pastor of the Plainville United Methodist Church, 16 East Bacon Street, Plainville, officiating. A Memorial Service Celebrating Her Life and her Reunion in Heaven will follow the graveside service at 12:00 Noon on MONDAY, January 7, 2012 at the Plainville United Methodist Church, 16 East Bacon Street, Plainville with the Rev. James Blair, Pastor, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Resident Activities Fund of the Madonna Manor Nursing Home, 85 North Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
