Alfred Rogash, 88, of Plymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Garden Place Health Care in Attleboro, MA. He was the husband of Marilyn Lorraine "Lynn" (DeQuattro) Rogash, who died on May 20, 2017, at the age of ninety.Born on September 3, 1929 in Chelsea, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Salomi (Rybicki) Rogash.Alfred graduated from Suffolk University with a B.A. degree in English in 1964 and worked for many years as an English Teacher at Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton, MA; East Bridgewater Jr. High School; Berkley Jr. High School; and at Bristol Plymouth Regional Vocational High School. Prior to his teaching career, Alfred worked as a union printer for the Globe Ticket Company in Boston, for the Plimpton Press papers in Norwood, MA, and for the Boston Globe and Boston Herald newspapers. A resident of Plymouth, MA from 1994 until 2017, he previously lived in Easton, MA, and in Attleboro from 2017 until 2018.Alfred had a love of teaching and literature, with many interests and talents. He was an avid reader and writer who volunteered his time at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA, and at the Brockton United Methodist Church, where he served as writer and editor for the newsletter. He designed and wrote for several AARP regional newsletters. He enjoyed American history; photography; music, especially listening to country music; and art. He enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with Lynn and their family. Formerly a commission member of the Easton Recreation Department in Easton, MA, he enjoyed playing horseshoes in one of the town's league. He was an ardent longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox and of the great Ted Williams. He was the father of Joseph A. Rogash and his wife, Charlotte Rogash, of Santa Teresa, NM; James Rogash and his wife, Gail Oskin, of Norton, MA; and David Rogash and his wife, Cheryl Sanders, of Charleston, SC. He was the proud grandfather of Lindsay (Rogash) Bird and Lisa Rogash. Alfred was the brother of Nan Parsons of Bowie, Maryland, and was predeceased by seven siblings. He leaves several nieces and nephews.A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alfred to an Alcoholics Anonymous chapter of your choice.
