Alfred "Arfie" E. Schepis

Alfred E. Schepis, 89, of Middleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2019 at his residence at Oakhill HealthCare in Middleboro.
Born on May 4, 1930 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph Schepis and the late Nicolina (Miccio) Schepis.
Raised and educated in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, he was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1948. Alfred was for many years the proud owner and operator of Arfie's Pizza and Italia Pizza before retiring.
A resident of Middleboro for the past two years, Alfred previously lived in Attleboro, MA since 1993, and in Norwood, MA for fifteen years before that time.
An outgoing, caring and generous man, he loved owning his own businesses and had a passion for Italian cooking and Italian food of all kinds. He was a past member of the Sons of Italy and the Knights of Columbus in Hyde Park, delighted in spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid sports fan that enjoyed coaching softball as a younger man.
Alfred was the loving father of Robert "Bob" A. Schepis of Halifax, MA; Mark S. Schepis of Meredith, NH; and Laura Schepis of New Bedford, MA. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and the brother of the late Anthony Schepis and the late Philip Schepis. He leaves two nephews, one niece, and many dear friends.
Friend and relatives are cordially invited to honor and remember Alfred by gathering for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, followed by a Celebration of Life and Remembrance Service at 1:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be privately held in St. Michael's Cemetery, Boston, MA at a later date, at which time Alfred will be laid to rest alongside his late parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alfred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
