Albert Stanley Henick

February 16, 1919 — December 19, 2015

Albert Stanley Henick, 96, of Newton, MA, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in North Attleboro, MA at the home of his granddaughter, Karen M. Bratkon. He was the husband of the late Fae (Posner) Henick who died in 1988, and the late Anne (Shwachman) Ehrlich who died in 2004.   Born on February 16, 1919 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of Samuel Henick and Helen (Stein) Henick.   A resident of the Scandinavian Living Center in Newton, MA since 1991, Albert previously resided for many years in Framingham, MA, and prior to that, in Chicago.  He was a graduate of Senn High School in Chicago, and received both his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Chemistry from Oberlin College.  He was employed as a Chemist for the United States Army for more than thirty years until his retirement.   Albert is survived by his children: Rose (Henick) Ryan of Bradenton, FL; and Paul M. Henick of Richmond, VA; step-daughters: Elizabeth Canick of Roslindale, MA; Ellen Bridle of Los Angeles, CA; and Phyllis Vandermolen of Salt Lake City, UT.  He leaves three grandchildren: Karen M. Bratkon and her companion, Daryl T. Cavaca of North Attleboro, MA; Burton A. Comfort of Hopkinton, MA; and Elizabeth Henick-O'Brian of Richmond, VA; seven great-grandchildren: Bianca Fae Bratkon; Alexandra P. Comfort; Nicholas J. Bratkon; Samuel A. Comfort; Katie J. Cavaca; Lilly O'Brian; and Matthew O'Brian; as well as two nieces.   Albert was the brother of the late Robert Henick.   A Garden Party in Al's honor will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 4:00- 7:30 p.m. at the Scandinavian Living Center, 206 Waltham St. Newton, MA. Services are private.
