Albert Ernest Carter, 73, of Attleboro, MA passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at his residence on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Born in Attleboro, MA on May 24, 1947, he was a son of the late Viola Battey-Carter. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mr. Carter attended Attleboro High School and remained a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro.
Mr. Carter was a self-employed house painter having owned and operated "Al Carter's Painting" for many years. In his early years he also enjoyed tending bar at the former Park Tavern in Attleboro, MA.
He was a lifelong member of the Attleboro Elks Lodge #1014 in Attleboro, MA where he enjoyed having the occasional beer with his friends and those at the American Legion Post #12 in Attleboro, MA.
Al will be lovingly remembered as a "simple man" who treasured family, sweets and playing computer games.
He was an ardent fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.
Survivors include his wife: Paula M. (Kinney) Carter of Attleboro, MA; his children: Barry Carter and Kelly Parker both of Attleboro, MA; Alise Carter of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Traci and Noah Adams of Lake Jackson, TX; and Timothy Carter of Attleboro, MA; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the use of facemasks, family and friends are cordially invited to honor Mr. Carter by attending Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Due to space limitations dictated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, extended family and friends will be invited to pay their respects and exit the chapel area.
Burial will be private.
