Alan D. Perry

Alan D. Perry, 58, of Attleboro, MA, passed away on April 17th, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous five-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Paula and father to Halie and Kyle. Alan was born to American parents at Lajes Field, U.S.A.F., Azores. He then shortly moved to Fairfield, CA, before eventually moving with his family to Dartmouth, MA, where he graduated from Dartmouth High School. Alan earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from U.M.A.S.S. Dartmouth. He obtained a registration as an environmental health specialist and was a registered sanitarian. Alan retired as the health agent with the City of Attleboro. He also served as Health Director in Lexington and Raynham and President of the Massachusetts Environmental Health Association. He continued as a voting board member for the remainder of his life. Alan leaves his wife Paula of nearly 30 years (May 29th) and his children Halie and Kyle Perry, both of Nashville, TN. He was the son of the late Peter and Anna Perry. The brother of Debra Dixon of New Bedford, MA; Linda Medeiros and husband Gilly of South Dartmouth, MA; Peter Perry and wife Debra of Fairhaven, MA; and Lisa Vitorino of Swansea, MA. Mother-In-Law, Bonnie Witiaz of Easton, MA; Sister-In-Law Stephanie Bradley and husband Bill of Easton, MA; and Sister-In-Law Nancy Murphy and husband Brian of Galveston, TX. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Along with his professional passions, Alan loved traveling, swimming, hiking, animals, reading, and spending time with family and friends (especially Paula, Halie, and Kyle). The family would like to thank Dr. Asma Latif for the excellent care and friendship she provided. The Sturdy Oncology department nurses and Betsy, his Old Colony Hospice Nurse. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation from 10:00 am until 11:30 am on Monday, April 29, 2024, in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alan's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Sturdy Hospital Oncology Department or Old Colony Hospice.
