Alan Richard Hurd, 75, of Brockton, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, MA.
Born on April 12, 1946 in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late George Calvin Hurd Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth (King) Hurd.
Alan was a graduate of King Philip Regional High School in Wrentham, MA and lived for many years in Wrentham, before moving to Brockton. He proudly and honorably served in the military.
An avid reader, he loved watching movies, participating in activities at the VA Hospital, playing Bingo, exercising, and closely following the stock market.
Alan was the brother of Robert "Bob" G. Hurd and his wife, Grace R. (Johasansen) Hurd, of North Attleboro, MA, and the late Roy E. Hurd. He leaves his nieces and nephews: Richard E. Hurd and his wife, Lisa Hurd, of Plainville, MA, and their daughter, Amanda Faverman; Ann Marie Hurd of North Attleboro, MA, and her son, Brendan J. Hurd; George Hurd of North Attleboro, MA; Ruth Hurd of North Attleboro, MA; Debra Hurd Cooper and her husband, John Cooper Jr., of North Attleboro, MA, and their daughters, Sarah and Teyla; and David Hurd of North Attleboro, MA, and his daughter, Kayla Hurd.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Graveside Service for Alan in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, with the funeral cortege proceeding from Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. to proceed to the cemetery for a 10:15 a.m. service. There will be no services in the funeral home.
