Agnes Mary Costine

Agnes Mary (Martasian) Costine, 96, of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, passed away peacefully at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late John Joseph Costine.Born on December 9, 1921 in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late George Martasian and Angelina (Capra) Martasian Dennis.A graduate of Tolman High School in Pawtucket, RI, she loved her work in Retail Sales for many years at Wishing Well in Seekonk, MA, retiring in 2005. She worked, well into her eighties, as a "TV Lady" for Sturdy Memorial Hospital.A resident of North Attleboro for the past three years, she previously lived in Attleboro.An active, caring, generous, and giving woman, Agnes was an avid reader who enjoyed crossword puzzles, baking and cooking, knitting, time spent at the beach, particularly in Cape Cod and Galilee, RI, and camping, especially at Campers Haven. More than anything else, Agnes cherished being with her family.She was the loving and much loved mother of Judith A. Lovely of Attleboro, MA, and her late husband, John Irving Lovely; Carolyn J. Gayton and her husband, Ronald F. Gayton Sr., of Attleboro Falls, MA; and Beverly J. Germain and her husband, Bradford S. Germain, of Attleboro, MA. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Agnes was the dear sister of Mary Mahtasian of Pawtucket, RI, and was predeceased by her siblings: Paul Mahtasian, Elizabeth "Betty" Beckett, and John Mahtasian. She leaves several nieces and nephews.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Agnes by gathering for a Visitation on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.Burial services will be held in Newell Burying Ground, Attleboro, MA, at a later date and time to be announced, at which time Agnes will be laid to rest alongside her dear late husband, John.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnes' name to the "Worcester State Foundation", noting the "Enactus Fund", at Tara Hancock Alumni Office, Worcester State University, 486 Chandler Street, Worcester, MA 01602.For additional information or to send the family a written expression of sympathy, please visit an online guest book at www.dyer-lakefuneralhome.com .
