Robert Edward Arras

Robert Edward Arras, 95, of Eastham, MA, peacefully passed away at The Terraces Orleans in Orleans, MA on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.  He was the beloved husband of Martha Rich Ffolliott Arras. Born on August 30, 1920 in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of William Arras and Viola (Heislitz) Arras. A resident of Cape Cod for more than twenty years, Robert previously resided in Galicia, Spain.   He proudly and honorably served our country from 1943 until 1946 as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, having received the Bronze Star Medal for his acts of merit and bravery. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University in 1943, and retired in 1982 after having enjoyed a successful career as a Business Executive in the automotive industry for Rockwell International in Mexico, and previously with the Chrysler Corporation and  General Motors Corporation in Peru, Cuba, Venezuela and Spain. A true family man, Robert also enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and music, and was a member of the Cape Cod Men's Club. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by three beloved children: Robert Edward Arras, Jr. of Winchester, MA and Costa Rica; Anne Christie Arras of Australia; and Charles William Arras of California. He also leaves five cherished grandchildren and four treasured great-grandchildren, as well as four nieces and nephews.  He was the husband of the late Jean L. Lloyd, and the brother of the late Diane (Arras) Weaver. Visitation has respectfully been omitted. Burial services are private.
