Gordon Bruce Walker, Jr., "Bruce", 77, of North Attleboro, MA died unexpectedly on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island following a time of declining health. He was the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Pelletier) Walker to whom he was married on May 7, 1983, and who passed away on July 7, 2004.
Born in Boston, MA on November 2, 1944, he was a son of the late Gordon Bruce Walker, Sr. and the late Margaret Mary (Taylor) Walker. He was raised and educated in Milton, MA where he was a 1963 graduate of Milton High School. He later attended Franklin Institute of Technology and was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology. He had been a resident of North Attleboro the past 40 years and wintered in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
He was employed in sales and marketing for Brookfield Engineering for more than 20 years prior to his retirement in 2009.
Bruce and his family enjoyed camping in his R.V., especially at South Shore Beach in Little Compton, Rhode Island and at Scusset Beach on Cape Cod. He was a member of the Milton A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years and served in many capacities including serving as the Worshipful Master.
He was a longtime New England Patriots season ticket holder, loved visiting yard sales, was a true Jimmy Buffett "Parrothead" who loved his music and attending concerts, and enjoyed a nice cigar with some Cutty Sark or rum and coke. Bruce was a lifelong animal lover who had many golden retrievers, including Zoey, who will miss him dearly.
His truest joy came from spending time with his beloved family.
He leaves his cherished children: Amanda K. (Walker) Oliveira and her husband, Matthew J. Oliveira, of Seekonk, MA; Andrew G. Walker of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Corey R. Walker of North Attleboro, MA; his beloved grandchildren: Ella M. Oliveira and Landon J. Oliveira both of Seekonk, MA; his brother: Donald Walker and his wife, Pamela Walker of Andover, MA; his dear cousins: Bert Robbins and his wife, Dianne (Hanley) Robbins, of Pembroke, MA and Susan (Robbins) Sheldon and her husband, Jack Sheldon, of Hanover, MA and many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
A ritual Masonic service will be held at 6:00 p.m. during visitation.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. following visitation.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bruce's name may be made to the Jimmy Fund of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
