"Do not judge a song by its duration, nor by the number of its notes. Judge it by the richness of its contents. Do not judge a song by its duration nor the number of its notes. Judge it by the way it touches and lifts the soul. Judge it on how it has enriched your life and remember how the melodies linger on in your heart. Sometimes those unfinished are the most beautiful" Author Unknown Alexander "Alex" Charles Keating Palmer, 29, of Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro, died unexpectedly on May 6, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a long battle with addiction. His family hopes that sharing his story of how his addiction ultimately cost him his life will help others afflicted similarly and their families. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on August 13, 1985, he was a son of Dr. Mario S. K. Palmer and Donna R. (King) Palmer, R.N. both of Attleboro. He was a lifelong resident of the City of Attleboro and was a 2004 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School. He later studied health policy administration at Providence College. He was a member of Murray Unitarian Universalist Church in Attleboro. Alex, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was employed in the construction industry for many years for various local companies. He had an insatiable love for music particularly "The Eagles" and "Jason Mraz". He enjoyed installing sound systems in automobiles for his friends and making countless music CDs. Alex loved photography and time spent nurturing the family's beautiful flower gardens with his mother. An inquisitive man, he always sought to expand his knowledge by performing exhaustive research to better understand topics in their entirety and to become a more informed individual. He treasured the times spent on family vacations to his father's native country of Italy when they would visit Forte Dei Marmi, Italy and the countless family photos taken by the banana tree. His family loved and supported him and he had a bright and prosperous future until his addiction took control of his warm and gentle soul. In addition to his parents, he leaves his siblings: Stephen A. K. Palmer and his wife, Robin (Anton) Palmer, of Katy, Texas; Peter L. K. Palmer and is wife, Lori (Moore) Palmer, of Orange, California; Kim L. K. Kern and her husband, John Kern, of Spring Hill, Florida; Ann F. K. Anderson and her husband, Douglas Anderson, of Oviedo, Florida and Lauren K. P. King of Attleboro; nine nieces; four nephews; three aunts; three uncles; his beloved labradoodle: "Lily" and many dear friends. He was the maternal grandson of the late Mildred H. (Vance) King.
