Albert Edouard Robitaille, Sr.

Albert Edouard Robitaille, Sr., 74, of County Street, Attleboro, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 29, 2011 upon arrival at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Margaret Peggy Ann (Parmenter) Robitaille to whom he was married on November 25, 1969. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on September 27, 1936, he was a son of the late Wilfred W. and Irene B. (Metivier) Robitaille. He returned to Attleboro a year ago having resided in North Attleboro for four years. He was employed as a polisher for V.H. Blackinton Company in North Attleboro for four years; worked for 12 years at Norms Seafood in North Attleboro and was an inspector at Willow Tree Poultry Farm in Attleboro for 18 years prior to retiring last December. Previously, Mr. Robitaille was employed as a custodian for the City of Attleboro School Department at the Hill Roberts Elementary School as an employee of the Marriott Corporation. He served for six years with the Rhode Island National Guard as a member of the Army Reserves as a Military Police officer. Mr. Robitaille was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls. A devout New England sports fan, he loved the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins of more recent times. He treasured the time spent cooking and creating woodworking projects. In addition to his wife of 41 years, he leaves six children: Albert E. Robitaille, Jr. of Stoneham; Kevin M. Robitaille of Rehoboth; Tammi J. Auger of Seekonk; Jennifer I. Robitaille of Attleboro and twin sons: Mark D. Robitaille of Norton and Michael D. Robitaille of Attleboro; ten grandchildren: Megan Robitaille of Stoneham; Kaleigh and Kameron Robitaille of Rehoboth; Alison, Emma and Amanda Auger of Seekonk; Madisyne and Lily Robitaille of Norton and Aaron and Ayden Robitaille of Attleboro; two brothers: Wilfred Robitaille of Plainville and Emile Robitaille of Cumberland, Rhode Island and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 4:00 8:00 PM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may simply call (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis local transportation. Childrens room available during visitation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 9:00 AM at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Towne Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Mass of Christian Burial. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
